Not in the misto and gnocchi sense, but "meat and potatoes": straight ahead, hearty, no frills, deep-down, satisfying food...Sparta's is first and foremost a pizza house. Pizza makes up two-thirds of the menu and for good reason: This is a fresh. well-made product, one that will keep you coming back both for its delicious simplicity and for its fair price.....Of course Spartans don't live on pizza alone. February 7, 2005 By Herb Weisbaum SEATTLE - On Friday, I told you about Consumer Reports ratings for the top 3 national pizza chains. Papa John's came in No. 1, followed by Pizza Hut and Dominos. (Click here for Friday's story). But a lot of us eat at local pizza joints, so I wanted to find out which ones you like best. We took an informal poll on here on the KOMO Web site. Here are the results: There was a tie for No. 4 between Romios Pizza and Jet City Pizza. At No. 3: Northlake Tavern and pizza house. Another tie for the second pot between Papa Murphy's and Pagliacci Pizza. And (drumroll….) Coming in at No. 1: Sparta's Pizza and Spaghetti House. Here are some of the comments I got about Sparta's. "Nothing is better" "Sparta's Pizza is so good and the service is very friendly and family oriented." "It's thick, full of whatever toppings you choose, and topped with fabulous Danish mozzarella cheese. Scrumptious!" "It's the best pizza in the universe!!!"
